What parents and children say
Charlotte is an amazing lady, and is amazing at what she does for the children she looks after. My eldest had Charlotte at school (she was Miss C then) she helped him more than anyone before or since. She has become part of our family, supported James when school got tough, cheered him on through college and still checks in. We love her dearly and will forever be grateful for everything she did for James.

I met Charlotte roughly 10 years ago, when our children attended the same nursery, we didn't know each other, however, her kindness and support one afternoon when finding me upset one stressful day, will always stay with me, I saw then, her kind, approachable and understanding nature. She made me feel at ease and calmed me before collecting my children. I found later that she was working alongside a friend, working with children with additional needs and had undertaken a degree in children's mental health, followed by her teaching qualification, Charlotte's passion in understanding and promoting individuality in young people, along with acknowledging each child learns differently is something I haven't seen since I was a child, lucky enough to have experienced it. She recognises, exactly, how that child, through patience, empathy, a willingness to know the child and their needs/worries/interests and complete commitment how to teach THEM, knowing THEM, for THEM. I have, over the last 18 months, experienced the SEN system, it hasn't been a good experience for us, and one I had no experience of, 2 older children didn't require this, it has been a minefield, my son has not had a curriculum for over 3 years, covid, isolation at school with no ability to meet need, nearly 18 months at home, he has a shockingly bad association with school and education to say the least, he was depressed, at 9, due to his experiences in his provision, he has very low esteem, he fears failure, he believes he is the problem sadly. Recently diagnosed with ASD, still learning, understanding and finding myself frustrated at times, I never thought we could reverse his expectations of learning and importantly his self belief, he is so bright, funny and willing. I was made aware that Charlotte had embarked on her own tutoring business, fully aware of her background and approaches to children's mental health and teaching approaches I made contact. Charlotte has (it took a few sessions of not engaging, skipping off etc) gained his trust, allowed him to lead the way, to capture and incorporate his interests, combined modalities (how many of us learn more with, physical, auditory, visual combined?) He completely engaged, for the first time in over 3 years!!!!!! Charlotte promotes outdoor learning, hands on, even if crafting and building in the home, visits, if you have a child who learns better this way, my son does, so building DNA at home got his attention, but he is not yet ready to go out, Charlotte allows everything at his pace, so I know that will come. I cannot believe the progress and excitement from my son to continue this learning!!! Charlotte truly cares, inspires and wants (and will) make that difference, find that spark and reignite it! TEACHES in the true sense of the word, because she believes in each child. I never thought I'd see my son engage again, to see him enjoy learning, confident in his abilities, and proud of himself! It is pure joy to see. That would not have been possible with Charlotte, that I am sure of.

She seems to be blossoming in everything confidence wise, it’s precious to see! Thank you for your support, I feel like we’re now heading the right way academically.

She has really come out of herself since doing her tutoring sessions. Tilly always had something negative to say about her learning or school, but she is keen to get online for her session with Charlotte, running upstairs saying ‘Charlotte will be waiting!’ It’s lovely to see, not just how much more she understands, but their bond.

Charlotte makes learning fun, we learn through things that interest me, and I get the water cycle now.

Private primary school tutor in Devon
Charlotte is an excellent tutor. She has helped my children with great patience and humour to reach their goals and to excel. My girls have improved with confidence as well as their in academic achievements. Taking on a tutor is a big decision and investment but really worthwhile to enhance the homeschool learning experience. Charlotte provides the resources required to support children's learning beyond the tutoring sessions which has been really useful to us. She adapts her tutoring style to meet the needs of her students and she is flexible and able to adjust and tailor classes as skills develop or struggles occur. I would recommend contacting Charlotte if you think this is the support you might be looking for.
